Q1. Which train station is the closest?
Takaosanguchi Station on the Keiō Line is the closest. For more details, please see our website.

Q2. Does the museum have parking?
The museum does not have visitor parking. Please park near Keiō Line Takaosanguchi Station at the Hachioji City Mt. Takao Sightseeing Parking Lot, the Keio Takaosan Parking Lot, or other nearby pay parking lot. For more details, please see the Hachioji Tourist Association website.
* Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are crowded, and parking spaces may not be available. Visitors are encouraged to take the train, bus, or other forms of public transportation if at all possible.

Q3. Where can I park if I come by bicycle or motorcycle?
The museum does not have parking for bicycles, motorcycles, or other two-wheel vehicles. Please park in the underpass bicycle parking lot at the Keio Takaosan Parking Lot.
* Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays are crowded, and parking spaces may not be available. Visitors are encouraged to take the train, bus, or other forms of public transportation if at all possible.

Q4. Which bus stop is the closest?
The Takaosanguchi Station bus stop is the closest. There is a bus that runs between Takaosanguchi Station and Keiō-hachiōji Station (in the Hachioji city center), as well as other route buses operated by Keio Dentetsu Bus and Kanachu. Q5. Is there parking for large buses?
The museum does not have parking for large buses. Please park in the bus parking area at the Hachioji City Mt. Takao Sightseeing Parking Lot or other nearby parking lot for large buses. For more details, please see the Hachioji Tourist Association website.
* There is no area at the museum for boarding or deboarding buses. If boarding or deboarding is necessary, please do so at the rotary in front of Keiō Line Takaosanguchi Station or similar area. For information on boarding and deboarding large buses, please see the Hachioji Tourist Association website.

Q6. When is the museum closed?
The museum is open 365 days/year. However, it may close at times for maintenance work. For more details, please check the museum website for updated information on when the museum will close.

Q7. How much is the admission fee?
The museum is free, though admission is charged for special exhibitions and other events. For more details, please check the museum website for updated information on events.

Q8. May I use a wheelchair when viewing the museum exhibitions?
Visitors in wheelchairs are welcome. Electric wheelchairs can be borrowed free of charge for use within the museum building only. There are a limited number of these wheelchairs available, so please check in advance with museum staff.
* Please note that it can be difficult to move around the museum in a wheelchair when it is crowded at certain times such as during Golden Week, autumn foliage-viewing season, and other periods.

Q9. May I use a stroller when viewing the museum exhibitions?
Visitors with children in strollers are welcome. Strollers can be borrowed free of charge for use within the museum building only. There are a limited number of these strollers available, so please check in advance with museum staff.
* Please note that it can be difficult to move around the museum with a stroller when it is crowded at certain times such as during Golden Week, autumn foliage-viewing season, and other periods.

Q10. Is there a nursing room and diaper changing space?
The Baby Care Room is located behind the Information Desk on the first floor, and there are diaper changing spaces in the Baby Care Room and in the Accessible Toilet on each floor. For more details, please see the museum website.
* If you require hot water when using the Baby Care Room, please inform the staff at the Information Desk.

Q11. Is there a play area for kids?
The museum has a kid’s space designed in the shape of Mt. Takao, called Play Mountain. For more details, please see the museum website. When using the Play Mountain, please be aware of the following and comply with the museum rules.
* Remove shoes before entering the Play Mountain area.
* No food or drink is allowed in the Play Mountain area.
* Play Mountain is very slippery. Do not run in the area.
* All children are to be accompanied by an adult.

Q12. Does the museum have AED equipment?
There is AED equipment in the office on the first floor. For more details, please see the museum website.

Q13. Is there a museum gift shop and café?
There is a gift shop and a café on the first floor. For more details, please see the museum website.

Q14. Is there an area for eating lunch or other food and drink brought in from outside of the museum?
Visitors are invited to eat and drink in the rest area on the first floor, which is equipped with chairs and benches made from locally produced Tama lumber, as well as on the open lawn area. When eating and drinking at the museum, please comply with the following rules.
* No food or drink is allowed in exhibit areas.
* Visitors are asked to take their trash out with them. Mt. Takao is the birthplace of the “take your garbage home” campaign.
* The seats in front of the café are priority seating for café customers. Visitors not using the café are asked to use other seats and benches or the open lawn area.

Q15. Is photography permitted at the museum?
Photography is generally permitted. For more details, please see the museum website.

Q16. Is media coverage permitted at the museum?
Media coverage is generally permitted. There are, however, restrictions related to publication medium, content and other factors. For more details, please contact the museum directly.

Q17. May I use images posted on the museum’s website?
In accordance with copyright law, images may be used for personal use only. If they are to be used with articles publicizing the museum, the use of images outside the scope of personal use is permitted under certain conditions, depending on purpose and content. Q18. May I hold an exhibition open to general museum visitors in the Public Gallery on the second floor?
Only the museum itself and groups that meet certain criteria are permitted to hold exhibitions open to general museum visitors. Individuals may not apply to rent or use the gallery. Various conditions apply to use of the public gallery. For more details, please see the museum website.

Q19. May I hold an event open to general visitors in the Public Gallery on the second floor?
Events open to general visitors whose purpose of visit to the museum is not the event may not be held in the Public Gallery on the second floor. Only events open to general visitors that are sponsored by the museum may be held in the public gallery on the second floor.

Q20. May I rent the open lawn area for an event?
The museum does not rent out or offer the open lawn area for events. Only events and other activities sponsored by the museum may be held on the open lawn area.

Q21. Are you accepting volunteers?
We periodically recruit colleagues to engage in volunteer work with us.
